America’s Sunshine State – The Perfect Family Destination

The Florida Panhandle, referred to by the locals and visitors alike as the Sunshine State has a plethora of landscapes from tropical waters of the Gulf of Mexico and the Keys, to wetlands and grassy plains. However most people, especially families head to Florida for one thing – its amazing variety of theme parks. So if you want to visit some of the Orlando theme parks, here are a few you might want to consider.

Quite possibly number one on everyone’s list is going to be Walt Disney World where the kids can meet all their favourite Disney characters like Mickey and Minnie, Goofy and Donald Duck. The resort itself contains a number of attractions including a wildlife park where you can take a trip around the African plains or tropical jungles seeing many rare wild animals in a natural environment. After that you can cool off in Disneys’Blizzard Beach Water Park. Of course it would also be impossible to miss the world famous fireworks display at Disneys’ Magic Kingdom to round off a perfect day.

Another firm Orlando favourite is Sea World. This huge resort has everything you need to discover a different world beneath the oceans of the world. It has shark and dolphin experiences, manatees and an Antarctic Penguin exhibition. There are also many other rides and attractions like the Kraken rollercoaster, or take a wet and wild journey to Atlantis and if you don’t feel it is something you can get to see in one day, why not stay overnight at one of the resorts hotels or campsites. Whatever you decide to do, if all things oceanic is for you, Seaworld cannot be left off the list.

For the younger members of the family, the recently opened Legoland park is designed for kids age two to twelve years old and has ongoing projects and exhibitions being created by the Lego professionals all the time.

As you can see, Florida – and in particular Orlando – has something to offer for every member of the family and if you want to save some of your hard earned cash all tickets can be paid for in advance on the resort websites and you can even purchase VIP passes so you are not standing in the hot queues whilst waiting for your fun to begin.
