Cornish Delight!

Regardless of your chosen holiday destination the significantly most important thing that dictates your vacation from being good to becoming a cherished memory is the accommodation. From the initial welcome to the final farewell where you base yourself is the all-important ingredient to a successful break. That’s why I am always telling people to try a holiday cottage on the Cornish Coast at least once in their lifetime. When holidaying in Britain you, like the four million other like-minded people may choose glorious Cornwall, if you do then Polzeath is a must.

Situated on the north east Cornish coast, Polzeath is renowned for its fine surfing and soft golden sandy beaches that are watched over diligently by lifeguards during the peak holiday periods making it a safe place for all. The beach is a nature reserve that attracts the public who enjoy watching the dolphins and the great bird watching opportunities to be had, just be aware that the beach disappears during high tide. You may want to walk the beautiful coastal path that takes you to Daymer bay one way or through New Pozeath to Pentire Point, while enjoying the stunning cliff top scenery that just begs to be photographed.

Holiday accommodation in Polzeath is not hard to find on the internet and over recent years the choice and styles available has grown not only in availability but in rising standards year on year, it just gets better. This was the favorite haunt of the late Sir John Betjeman who is now at rest in St Enodocs church which dates back to the12th century and is uniquely surrounded by the golf course of the same name, one of the top courses in Cornwall. The beach at Daymer Bay is a quieter alternative to Polzeath, ideal for a change and perhaps a family picnic before returning to Polzeath in time for dinner.

The town offers many types of cuisine but many of the restaurants serve only the best local produce and some are set in idyllic surroundings, those with the best views are along the waterfront. Not far away is Padstow made famous by Rick Stein and his eateries a night out there would not go amiss but remember with any restaurant it vital that you book in advance, this can be done for you by your hotel or you can do it yourself with information provided by your host,

After dining and soaking up the intoxicating Cornish atmosphere its back to your carefully chosen holiday accommodation in Polzeath to comfortably finish off your perfect day with a nightcap and a sound nights sleep.
